This is the invitation that I modified (thanks to Adobe Photoshop) from an original layout I found on the internet. You can really find anything, and I mean ANYTHING, on the web.
This photo was simply uploaded on Facebook and invited guests were tagged, indeed a convenient and non-costly way of sending out an invitation.
~~~
I also created this design for a tarpaulin/banner that was hung up on the wall during the shower.
What's a party without balloons?
Hanging crepe papers in dual colors also contributed to the totality of the blue & yellow theme.
Since this was also a pajama party, the couches and chairs were kept to the sides and we placed a mattress in the middle of the room. Several pillows and stuffed toys were displayed all over the place.
A look at the feast prepared (c/o May Fulache).
It was all about finger foods - pastries, chips, popcorn, chicken lollipops, barbeque and clubhouse sandwiches.
The cupcake stand holding various sweets and pastries really make a good centerpiece. It was easily adorned with themed crepe papers and an invitation card on top.
On the kitchen counter, we placed the shower souvenirs and game prizes.
The party giveaways were newborn booties filled with candies and chocolates. The big bottle containing baby stuff not only makes for a useful present but also an appropriate centerpiece.
For the game prizes, we placed sweets inside baby bottles, while other goodies were wrapped in blue Japanese paper tied with yellow ribbon.
To the side is a cradle-shaped basket holding several plush toys. The set-up was finished with blue and yellow holders carrying copies of the invitation.
It was all about sticking to the theme. Everything was made to represent baby shower, blue & yellow color scheme, and/or pajama party.
~A close-up of the shower souvenirs. A pair of booties costs thirty pesos. The cost of the goodies inside is variable, depending on choice.~ |
We made name tags in the form of baby bibs for everyone to wear. Most guests came in their PJs too. That was the cherry on top of the themed cake.
Of course, a baby shower has got to have games to get everybody in the spirit!GAME # 1: Bottle Chugging Contest
It's also a good idea for the celebrant to take photos with the gift-giver and his/her gift.
I say the baby shower was a SUCCESS!
Special thanks to my sisters who played the part of my assistants all throughout the preparation and execution.
'Til the next party!
Xoxo,
